Transport is essential in our economy but the transport sector also has negative effects on our economy, society and environment. The challenges with regard to sustainability are large and diverse: from climate change and air quality to energy security. Transport causes around one third of CO2 emissions in the EU. Reducing emissions is therefore essential to achieve the Paris Climate Agreement and the European emission targets 2030 and 2050. But the transport sector lags behind in terms of emission reduction.

As important social actors, Cera and KBC want to understand these themes from an unrestricted and scientifically sound perspective. Therefore they organize the 'Horizon 2050' lecture series. One reading will be held on the 25th of October this year by prof. dr. Cathy Macharis where she will explain how we can accelerate transport in a sustainable direction.

The lecture starts at 11.30 a.m. in the Herman Teirlinck Auditorium of KBC in Brussels. You are welcome from 11 a.m. Do you want to be there? Then register today via the registration form.
