Biography

Rita Fóber is a sociologist with an MA in Culture and Society from the University of Lancaster – Central European University, an MA in Sociology and an MA in English from the University of Szeged in Hungary.

She is currently doing a part-time PhD at MOBI, while continuing to work in the European Parliament as a policy adviser concerning Roma and minority rights, and interpersonal security. Previously, she was a policy analyst relating to Roma rights and social inclusion at the Open Society European Policy Institute; and she worked on poverty and social exclusion issues at different ministries in Hungary.

Rita’s PhD research focuses on transport poverty and inequality of Roma people in the EU, trying to find out how much transport and the related digital inequality contribute to the social exclusion of Roma, and how the situation could be improved.
