Biography
Ahmed Hasouna received his M.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering from Menoufia University, Egypt, in 2025 and his B.Sc. in Electrical Power Engineering and Machines from the same university in 2021. He worked as a Research Assistant at Menoufia University, he was a member of the Power Electronics and Renewable Energy Research Lab, with experience in the design, simulation, and hardware implementation of multilevel converters, real-time control with DS processors, and modulation strategies.
In December 2025, Ahmed joined EPOWERS research group at MOBI, Vrije Universiteit Brussel, as a PhD researcher. His current research focuses on power electronics for megawatt charging systems, their architecture, control, and integration into LV/MV microgrids for light- and heavy-duty electric vehicles. This includes developing optimization algorithms for modular chargers, and hierarchical control strategies.
