Dr. Anne Van den Oever
Biography
Anne van den Oever obtained her Master’s degree in Bioscience Engineering from KU Leuven in 2019 and completed a joint PhD in Engineering and Bioscience Engineering at VUB and KU Leuven in 2025, focusing on prospective life cycle assessment (LCA) of emerging biofuel technologies. Since 2022, she has been part of the coordination team of the Prospective LCA Network, where she contributes to international community building and methodological development.
She has participated in several national and international research projects, including REDIFUEL, AD-LIBIO, PHOENIX and NEMO, working at the interface of process modelling, sustainability assessment and technology development. Her current postdoctoral research applies prospective LCA to next-generation energy and material systems, including self-healing batteries and electronics, while exploring broader methodological questions related to prospective LCA, model coupling, uncertainty, and futures studies.
