Biography
In June 2020, Arjen Mentens obtained a master in Energy Engineering Technology at Universiteit Hasselt and Katholieke Universiteit Leuven (joint programme). During his master year, he went to the Czech Republic as an Erasmus student to work on his thesis "Modelling the impact of distributed energy resources on low-voltage power grids". It focused on optimizing photovoltaic inverters for local voltage and frequency control. Currently, he is pursuing a PhD at MOBI regarding Healthy Habitats - researching the perfect balance between (visual and thermal) comfort and the corresponding energy consumption.
