Nicolas is a PhD Researcher in Business Economics in the EVERGi group. His research focuses on the business ecosystem necessary to support a sustainable power grid. Specifically, investigating the role EVs could play in providing flexibility services to the electricity grid via technologies such as smart charging and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G). To do so, he is employing a quantified, dynamic System Dynamics framework to model the complex business ecosystem of EV-enabled flexibility where multi-sector energy and mobility actors (aggregators, FSPs, ESCOs, CSOs, CPOs, DSOs, TSO, ...) interact. He is specifically involved in the LEVEL project at EVERGi.
Nicolas has a background in development, trade and migration economics, as well as EU climate and social policy, having previously worked as a researcher and senior consultant in those fields. He holds an MSc in International Economics from the University of Amsterdam.
