
This position is in the Faculty of Engineering Sciences of Vrije Universiteit Brussel, Belgium. The candidate will work in the research group MOBI (Mobility, Logistics and Automotive Technology Research Centre). It has an international and multidisciplinary team of more than 120 specialists and currently participates in 25 running EU projects. MOBI is a top-notch research group with an international reputation in the fields of sustainable transport and its integration in the smart energy system of the future. MOBI is now involved in the development of the Green Energy Park adjacent to Brussels. This is a living lab thatwill be unique in Europe and where the university, authorities and the industry collaborate to carry out cutting-edge research on smart micro-grids, renewable energy and innovative transport solutions including vehicle to grid applications. Recently MOBI has been very successful in its acquirement of innovative research projects for this new ambitious initiative, both on national and European level. We are looking to hire a Post-doc technical project manager smart microgrids, sustainable energy communities and vehicle-to-grid applications.

Tasks
- Conducting and coordinating front-running research activities in smart microgrids, sustainable energy communities and vehicle-to-grid applications.
- Technical manager of various R&D projects, ensuring project quality
- Assistance in new project development (proposal writing)
- Carrying out dissemination activities (papers, conferences…)
- Guidance and coaching of PhD students
Profile
- An academic PhD degree in Electricity or Energy
- Good knowledge of the electricity grid and vehicle-to-grid technologies
- Excellent communication skills in English (speaking and writing)
- Ability to work both in a team and independently while carrying out complex tasks
- Proactive and able to take initiative,
- Team-player and people manager
