You will work in the EPOWERS Research Group of the MOBI Research Centre (Electromobility Research Centre).

Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-voltage SiC switch concepts based on commercially available Silicon Carbide (SiC) dies and investigate advanced gate-drive techniques for dynamic and static voltage balancing of series-connected SiC devices.
- Develop methods for integrated gate driving and in-situ 𝑅
DS(on)RDS(on) monitoring for condition monitoring and device balancing. - Address key packaging challenges including electrical insulation, parasitic inductance, thermal management, voltage sharing, sensors and partial-discharge robustness.
- Design, build, and experimentally validate prototype high-voltage SiC switches and packaging concepts.
- Demonstrate the feasibility, lifetime performance, and advantages of the developed concepts through proof-of-concept experiments in a laboratory environment.
Required Degree
You have a master's degree in electrical engineering or applied physics.
Required Experience
Enthusiasm and motivation to work on highly challenging research topics, and the talent to contribute to the progress of science and technology.

- You have excellent software skill to model semiconductor fabrication processes and the electrical operation of power semiconductor;
- Good expertise in MATLAB and machine learning models in Python;
- Expert knowledge in Power semiconductor switch fabrication processes, integrated PCB manufacturing and packaging process from bare dies; Strong analytical and research capabilities;
- Ability to independently organize your own work, to solve problems, to achieve the desired goals and to cooperate;
- Good scientific writing and documentation skills;
- Excellent communication skills. You are fluent in written and spoken English, and knowledge of Dutch is a plus
- Work experience in an industrial environment is a plus;
- Project management skills are a plus.
