Ander Martinez Alonso
Biography
Ander Martinez Alonso graduated with M.Sc. Degree in Industrial Engineering in 2015 at the Public University of Navarre (UPNA) in Spain after successfully completing an exchange program with the INP-ENSEEIHT in France, where he specialised in Renewable Energies. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of La Rioja (UR) in Spain.
He is currently doing an international joint-Ph.D. between Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) and Kobe University (KU) in Japan. His research focuses on the development of tools and methods for improving the assessment of Multi-Energy Systems (MES), including hydrogen as an energy vector. Then, his research interests cover a variety of topics: multi-energy systems modelling, hydrogen technology, renewable energy sources, distributed and off-shore generation, smart grids, energy efficiency, life cycle optimisation and local energy communities.
He has had the opportunity to work with Flemish-Belgian organisations and funding, as well as to get involved in a variety of European H2020 and FCH-JU projects (now Clean Hydrogen Partnership): Renaissance, Mamuet, Remote, H2ulst. As well as the Kaitaku, Oguni-machi and Awajii Island projects from NEDO and the Organisation for Advanced and Integrated Research in Japan.
