Dr. Joris de Hoog
Joris de Hoog is an electronics engineer and obtained his PhD at VUB in 2018 where he was involved in large-scale cell testing and development of various numerical performance degradation models. After obtaining his degree, he moved to the industry, where he gained experience in both novel technologies and project management in a wide range of technical contexts. He has developed and maintained software for building energy modeling and anomaly detection, worked on the integration of AI-based computer vision in robotic applications and surveyed the economic potential of Digital Product Passports, before returning to his battery roots to pursue a postdoc. Joris has a passion for sustainability in all flavors and aims to leverage his role in the Battery Innovation Centre to help build the future of electrification of all things, not only mobility. He will be working both as a technical project manager and business developer, focusing on the local (Belgian) region.
