Dr. Ru Li
Biography
Li Ru received his Ph.D. degree in Physics and Chemistry of Polymer from Graduate University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and B. E. degree in Applied Chemistry from Henan University (China), respectively. He worked in LiteOn in the research area of packaging process engineering, failure analysis, and reliability of photocouplers and LEDs. Then, he joined Xingyu and focused on new materials and technology for thermal and fogging simulation of automotive lighting. After that, in March 2022, he joined the Electronic Components, Technology, and Materials (ECTM) group as a postdoctoral researcher and worked on the EU-funded AI-TWILIGHT project at Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands, where he mainly focused on the component level aging test for further modeling of the components and digital twin system development. From Dec. 2023, he joined Merlin in Lighting in MOBI research center as a Marie Sklodowska-Curie Postdoctoral Fellow (EUTOPIA-SIF COFUND). He is working on the Lighting4Future project, an EU-funded EUTOPIA-SIF Postdoctoral Fellowship project, which will develop the external human-machine interface (eHMI) between automated vehicles and Vulnerable Road Users. This is a new feature for automotive lighting to improve vehicle communication with other road users, especially for vulnerable road users in the context of increasingly automated vehicles above L3
