What was the EPE Association
The European Power Electronics and Drives Association (EPE Association) was an international non-profit organisation, legally established under Belgian law and based in Brussels.
Its mission was to promote and co-ordinate the exchange and publication of technical, scientific and economic knowledge in the field of power electronics and drives, covering areas such as power converters, electrical machines and drive systems, grids and smart grids, renewable energy systems, and e-mobility.
Brief history and highlights
The first formation meeting took place in Brussels on 16 November 1983.
The association obtained its formal legal recognition on 9 January 1989.
Over the years, EPE organised the well-known bi-annual EPE ECCE Europe Conference, which became one of the major European events on power electronics and applications.
EPE also published the EPE Journal, serving as a reference for state-of-the-art developments in power electronics, drives and related industrial applications.
Current status
The EPE Association has recently discontinued its activities in its former structure and is no longer operating as an active organisation.
EPE legacy still accessible
Although EPE is no longer active, its legacy remains a valuable resource for the research and e-mobility community. All past publications, conference archives, technical documents and historical materials remain available for those who need them.
