LOOPER project school street implementation

The LOOPER project tests a school street in Brussels

On February 10, a school street was implemented in Schaerbeek, Brussels as part of the research project LOOPER. During a three-month test period, the part of the street in front of the primary school Ecole 10 in Schaerbeek will be closed off for motorised traffic between 8 and 8.30 am.

On the 12th of February INDIMO project kicked off! The consortium members gathered in Brussels to jointly build a first set of ideas for future work on inclusive digital mobility. The goal of the INDIMO project is to enable researchers, operators, developers and policy makers to include the user perspective and co-creation approaches in the entire development process of digital mobility solutions.

Mobility project 365Snel has presented its results/recommendations about speedpedelecs

The Flemish mobility project 365Snel has presented its recommendations on the use of speedpedelecs on February 5th at a symposium. Since October 2018, commuters have been able to test speedpedelecs on their daily route to work, and both Belgian and European recommendations have now been formulated.

Eemnes municipality invited citizens, associations and local enterpreneurs to participate to the on-boarding event where all energy actors at stake could explain how the Local Energy Community will operate.

During the fifth edition of "Sustainable Tuesday" on November 5th, the VUB sustainability core group announced the CO2 measurement figures. Between 2016 and 2018, the carbon footprint of the VUB increased from 34,869 to 41,909 tons of CO2 on an annual basis.

NEW PROJECT! InterConnect: Towards a digitalisation of the European electricity sector

In the InterConnect (Interoperable Solutions Connecting Smart Homes, Buildings and Grids) project 51 European entities gather to develop and demonstrate advanced solutions for the digitalisation of the electricity sector. Seven large-scale pilots will be installed in seven European countries, among which Belgium. The project was approved by the European Commission under the Horizon 2020 programme.
