Biography
Rashid Ahmed Rifat earned his M.Sc. in Erasmus Mundus Joint International Masters in Smart Systems Integrated Solutions (SSIs) in 2023, and a B.Sc. in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from Independent University, Bangladesh, in 2019. Rifat has industry experience of working as a Researcher at nanoCaps, a leading supercapacitor company in Norway, and as an Engineer at Bangla Trac Limited (BanglaCAT), a subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc. USA, located in Bangladesh.
Since January 2024, Rifat embarked on his Ph.D. journey as a researcher with the Battery Innovation Centre Team at MOBI research centre, Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB). He is currently working on the EU project THOR, focusing on the development of an innovative methodology for battery testing. Rifat's doctoral research is centered on the electrochemical aging model of Li-ion battery systems, showcasing his deep interest and expertise in battery modeling, electrochemistry and energy storage technology.
Rifat loves to travel, explore and talk about science, history, culture, and geopolitics.
