On February 10, a school street was implemented in Schaerbeek, Brussels as part of the research project LOOPER. During a three-month test period, the part of the street in front of the primary school Ecole 10 in Schaerbeek will be closed off for motorised traffic between 8 and 8.30 am. Throughout the test phase, the opinions and ideas of pupils, residents, and school staff on the school street and traffic safety will be asked. The impact of the school street on the traffic flows in surrounding streets will also be analysed. The school street was officially inaugurated on February 19, in the presence of the Alderwoman of Mobility Adelheid Byttebier, the principal of the primary school as well as the principal of the future neighbouring school De Kriek. The LOOPER team used the opportunity of the inauguration to collect opinions on the school street from parents, children, residents, and the school's pedagogical team.
