Sustainable Multi-energy SystemsEVERGI focuses on developing holistic models that include all aspects of the energy and mobility sector for an integrated approach: ELECTRICITY, MOBILITY, HEAT, COOLING, WATER, DATA, HYDROGEN, E-FUELS ... Sustainable Energy Communities connect renewable energy generation with advanced multi-energy storage and prosumers. EVERGI has a special attention for the inclusion of key technologies to enable the energy transition such as electric powertrains for vehicles, automation, bidirectiona charging infrastructure, digitalization, Internet-of-Energy, artificial intelligence (machine learning) and crypto currency. |
R&D Platform
Interdisciplinary collaborationACROSS VUB TO SUPPORT INDUSTRIAL INNOVATION FOR THE ENERGY TRANSITIONIt is very important that we can collaborate interdisciplinary with many colleagues and research groups within the VUB, for example, EVERGI is already today collaborating with several disciplines from the inresearch groups: BPHOT (Phototonics), FLOW (Thermodynamics), AI-LAB (Artificial Intelligence), IES (Political Science), MOBI (Sustainable Mobility) and BIC (Batteries). Creating collaborative R&D opportunities: we help companies set-up innovative R&D strategic lines and attract resarch funding from regional, national or European grants; |

Expert tools & services
Specific expert tools are developed based on several years of interdisciplinary expertise in the field. This consists of forecasting supply and demand, the management of advanced energy storage, machine learning for state estimation of assets, the interaction of multi-energy vectors (heat, electricity, mobility,...) and self-learning algorithms. Currently, EVERGI can count on core expertise tools for

INFRASTRUCTURE
The Green Energy Park in Zellik, Belgium, is a hub for sustainable energy solutions and green technologies. It focuses on renewable energy production, R&D, and demonstration projects. The park offers educational programs and engages with the community to promote sustainability. The Smart Village Lab within the park showcases CO2-neutral energy initiatives, featuring homes that exchange electrical and thermal energy via a Smart Energy Grid. It serves as a testing ground for integrating various renewable technologies. |
